In 2020, TeLS created the Canvas Readiness Course in response to the need for all faculty to go online due to the pandemic. It is designed to provide the basics required for faculty to manage and teach an online course. It includes how-tos as well as some information about YC policies and procedures. Since then, the Canvas Readiness Course has been a requirement for all new adjunct faculty. It served us well, but updates and new features in Canvas necessitated a revamp.
TeLS has been working with faculty to get input on the new version, which will be ready this fall as part of Human Resources’ annual required trainings. The course will take approximately 60-90 minutes to complete, and we believe this will be time well spent. We expect the course will continue to be required for new faculty.
