Yavapai College is proud to be the first institution in the nation to award the Job Search All-Star micro-credential using its own learning management system. While other institutions have offered the badge via Indeed's partner platform, YC has taken a pioneering step by offering, tracking, and awarding this digital badge entirely in-house through Canvas.
This initiative was spearheaded by Katherine Anderson, Career Navigator with the American Job Center at Yavapai College, and showcases the college’s leadership in workforce development and micro-credentialing.
The Job Search All-Star badge was originally designed at YC and later officially approved by Indeed. The course materials, provided by Indeed, equip job seekers with essential skills in résumé building, interview preparation, and job searching. The course includes instructional videos and resources, a final quiz, and embedded tracking within Canvas to monitor learner progress and badge completion.
YC’s American Job Center provides free career support to youth, adults, and dislocated workers. These services include one-on-one coaching, employment resources, and now—industry-recognized micro-credentials that help individuals stand out in today’s competitive job market.
