At Yavapai College, we’re continuing our Elev8 with 8 initiative to expand the number of courses offered in the 8-week format. The goal is simple: provide students with flexible, focused pathways to success while helping faculty design courses that are streamlined, engaging, and effective.

As part of this effort, we’ve created the Elev8tors: a peer support network of faculty who have already made the transition and are willing to share their expertise.

What Are the Elev8tors?

The Elev8tors are faculty supporting faculty. This group is here to help colleagues who are:

  • Transitioning from 16-week to 8-week online courses
  • Exploring hybrid teaching in an 8-week format
  • Improving accessibility in redesigned courses
  • Identifying and adopting OER resources to lighten costs and improve flexibility

The Elev8tors provide real-world faculty experience, practical tips, and peer encouragement.

Want their help? Use the Elev8tor Consultation Request form.

Why Become an Elev8tor?

If you’ve successfully designed or taught an 8-week course and feel confident in the results, this is your chance to make a difference. As an Elev8tor, you’ll:

  • Share what has worked for you in condensing content and keeping rigor intact.
  • Support peers who may feel overwhelmed by the transition.
  • Strengthen our culture of collaboration by helping others succeed.
  • Contribute to the college-wide Elev8 with 8 initiative, ensuring consistency and quality across programs.

How to Join

If you’re ready to step up and support your peers, join the Elev8tors today. Email Thatcher Bohrman and express your interest.

Your experience could be the key that helps another faculty member, and their students, make the most of the 8-week model.

Let’s Elev8 together.
